Light and music: an atmospheric celebration of water in Belper River Gardens for Discovery Days, on 20th & 21st October 2007
As part of Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site Discovery Days 2007 the event took place in the River Gardens. There was a short procession of light boxes and lanterns made at community workshops.
To a musical accompaniment the procession meandered towards the bandstand where a triptych of projections was accompanied by live acoustic music from local professional musicians known collectively as Freefall Lounge. The whole event was loosely based around the theme of water.
A unique and atmospheric evening - different to the 2006 Discovery Days' 'Magic Lantern' - but still with some beautiful and interesting ideas made by local people.
